I had been eagerly anticipating this senior session for weeks, and finally, the day had arrived. We had both agreed to shoot at the Ector Theater in Downtown Odessa, a popular spot for graduating seniors in #Odessatx.

Unfortunately, the shoot was not going to go according to plan. When I arrived at the location, I was surprised to see a large crowd of people and many vehicles.

I didn't know there was a concert happening at the Ector Theater. Now my plans were shot (pun intended) due to the multitude of vehicles parked both in the parking lot and on the street. I began to feel anxious as I was unsure of what to do. Canceling the shoot was not an option, but having vehicles in the background of all the images was not desirable either.

After reviewing my list of possible locations, I contacted the mother of my senior and discussed the situation with her. I presented her with a few alternative options and she was very receptive and understanding of the need for a change in location.

Mom informed me that her daughter would be dressed in a red suit, and I immediately thought of the cactus mural nearby that would be an ideal backdrop. It's a relatively new addition and conveniently located.

We decided to have the session there, and although I felt a bit nervous since it was my first time, I was glad we made that choice!

The red suit or romper she wore made her stand out against the green background of the mural, enhancing her overall appearance. Even her mom agreed that it was the perfect choice. And indeed, it was!

In the end, the updated plans turned out to be a stroke of luck. I was over the moon with how the photos turned out, and my clients were simply delighted with the outcome. My main objective is always to keep my clients happy and give them the pictures they want, even if that means making some last-minute adjustments.
